What Happens to Your Junk After We Haul It Away

When our truck pulls away from your house, your junk does not just vanish into a landfill. A good chunk of it never gets there at all. Here is what actually happens to it, because we think you should know.

First, we sort. On the way to the truck, and again before anything gets dumped, we separate what is still useful from what is truly done. That sounds simple, but it is the step that keeps a lot of good furniture, working appliances, and household goods out of the ground.

Anything still in decent shape gets donated. Usable furniture, appliances that still run, and household items go to Goodwill or, when it makes sense, straight to a neighbor who can use them. In a growing area like Phoenix, one family's old couch is another family's first couch.

What cannot be donated, we try to recycle. Metal from old appliances and grills, cardboard, and green waste all have somewhere better to go than a landfill. Electronics are their own category. Old computers, TVs, and printers carry materials like lead and mercury, so we route e-waste to be recycled properly instead of tossed.

Only what is left after all of that actually gets disposed of, and we do it the right way. A few things we cannot take at all, like hazardous waste, liquid paint, and chemicals, because those need specialized handling.

The short version: we are a junk removal company that tries hard not to be a landfill company. It is better for the community and better for the desert we all live in.
